Spooky Halloween Oreo Spiders Recipe

Halloween is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with these adorable and delicious Oreo Spiders? Perfect for parties, school treats, or a fun afternoon activity with the kids, these creepy critters are sure to delight. With just a few simple ingredients, you can whip up a batch of these spooky snacks in no time!

Ingredients

• 1 package of Oreo cookies
• 1 package of think licorice strips or Pretzel sticks
• 1 package of candy eyes
• 1 cup of white frosting
• Optional: Sprinkles or edible glitter for added flair
  
  

Instructions

Step 1: Melt the Chocolate

1. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate melting wafers. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and fully melted. If you’d like a thinner consistency, mix in the vegetable oil.

Step 2: Assemble the Oreo Cookies

2. Prepare the Oreos: Carefully twist apart each Oreo cookie. You can keep the cream side for the spider's body or use both sides for the legs and body.

3. Ice:  Add a layer of the white frosting. 

Step 3: Create the Spider Legs

4. Add the Legs: Place 8 black licorice legs on each Oreo on top of the icing and gently press down.

Step 4: Add the Eyes

5. Finish with Eyes: Use a bit of the icing to adhere two candy eyes to the top of the Oreo. 

Step 5: Let Set

6. Let Them Set: Place the completed spiders on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
