Easy Mixed Media Project: Shabby Chic Lace Tags Tutorial
I thought I would share another little project today where I used some paper from an old 6 x 6 inch paper pad collection I had tucked away in my stash. Adding some Sizzix Effectz Paste, Modelling Paste, Stamping and of course using some old lace pieces.
Follow these simple steps to create your Shabby Lace Tags
Step 1.
Choose four 6 x 6 papers from your paper pad and cut them in half. If you are using thin paper you may like to mount them on cardstock. My paper was quite thick so I left it as is.
Trim the top corners to create the tag shape and ink the edges of your tags. I used distress ink, Antique Linen.
Step 2.
Punch a hole in each tag and set it with an eyelet. Or just use ribbon on trim. I used dyed muslin in this project.
Step 3.
Grab a stencil similar to the Uniquely Creative Pebbles Marking Making Stencil. A stencil that has a fine design works best, however, you really can use any stencil.
Smear some of the Sizzix Crystal Effectz Paste through the stencil in a few places and then also do the same with the Texture Paste.
Step 4.
Choose some small stamps in keeping with the shabby theme and stamp images in various places. The stamp set I used was HOTP Paris mini stamp set.
Step 5.
Layer different pieces of lace, plastic fibre tops, die-cut birds or butterflies onto your tag. Finish off with some flower petals and a view gems.
Step 6.
Add the quotes/sentiment to each tag. Two of the quotes used were from PinkFresh Sticker Sheet and the other two were printed from a downloadable quote file. To soften the quotes I rubbed some pastel chalk over the top.
Step 7.
Thread some dyed muslin through the top of the tags and tie off.
Products used:
