Project - Tag Album Using Clothing Tags and Mod Podge

Hello there Craft Peeps

I thought I would share a little project today using some of the Clothing Labels my son pulled off the clothes he got for Christmas. Just as I was about to throw them in the bin, I had the twinkling of an idea stirring in my mind.

I decided to repurpose them into a mini tagbook for journalling. The tags were all different shapes and sizes, all of them had holes in them already. One even had the eyelet set in the hole. They were perfect for what I had in mind.

It took me a few minutes to think about what papers I would use and I decided to use the Art By Marlene Collage papers along with some of the quote stickers and die cuts.

While my mind was planning it all, I decided to do a quick video of the before and after. I wasn't sure how long it would take and was reluctant to video the whole project. As it turned out it took about an hour which was too bad.

Project instructions are below: 

Step 1: Decide on your papers and tear them into strips. So you strips will need to be various widths depending on the width of your tags. If you have circle tags use your circle punch to make it easier.

Step 2. Mod Podge your first tag. (I used the Matte Mod Podge). Select one of the paper strips and adhere it to the tag, fold it over to the other side and adhere down. So you should have one long strip that will fit onto the front side of the tag and then fold over to the other side. Trim the excess off, but don't throw it away as you can re-use it another tag.

Step 4. Decorate with quotes and stickers.

Step 5. Repeat the process for all the tags.

Step 6. Use your Cropodile to punch holes through the paper and the hole that is already there. I had one tag with an eyelet already set, so I left this open and didn't cover it with paper. I also create a mini pocket. I didn't cut the excess off and just adhered the edges down, leaving the centre open to place another tag in.

Step 7. Thread twine through each hole and tie off with charms.
