October Creative Day: Crafting Halloween Magic!
October is the perfect time to let your creative spirit run wild, and for this month's Creative Day project, we dove headfirst into Halloween fun! Our project was a delightful mix of whimsy, color, and spookiness, and the results were truly magical. Here’s a peek at what we created and how we brought our ideas to life.
The Project: Spooky Halloween Coasters
We began with simple wooden coasters as our base, transforming them into charming Halloween decor. These little treasures were perfect for setting the spooky mood, whether you’re hosting a Halloween party or just looking to add a touch of October magic to your home.
Materials Used:
Wooden coasters - A sturdy and versatile base for our project.
Halloween-themed paint - Think classic Halloween shades: pumpkin orange, ghostly white, and eerie black.
Halloween-themed die cuts - We used a Halloween themed printable from the Scrap of Your Life shop
Spider-web mesh ribbon - A delicate and spooky texture that added an extra layer of flair.
Shaker card pieces and bling - Because no project is complete without a little sparkle and fun!
How We Made Them:
Painting the Base: We started by painting the wooden coasters in our chosen Halloween colors. The bold, vibrant hues instantly set the stage for a spooky design.
Adding the Die Cuts: Next, we carefully cut and placed the Halloween-themed designs from Scrap of Your Life. Pumpkins, bats, and witches galore — these designs brought the coasters to life.
Incorporating the Ribbon: To give the project a touch of texture and mystery, we layered a piece of spider-web mesh ribbon. The effect was hauntingly beautiful!
