DT Marion Brown - Mini Journal - Heidi Swapp Old School Collection.

Here is a really cool interactive journal created by one of our Design Team Ladies - Marion Werren.

I know Marion just loves journals and wasn't surprised when she chose to create a journal using the Heidi Swapp Old School Collection.  Marion has not used Heidi Swapp much at all.. but that's the good thing about creating using product you don't normally use as it takes you outside your comfort zone which is sometimes a good thing!!

Marion used simple folders (like the old manila folder type) from K-Mart and cut them down just a tad on the long side so the folder measures around 10 inches.

A little bit of zig zag stitching with a sewing machine adding interest to the cover as well as some stenciled papers for the inside pages and I just loved the scoring / folding  cardstock technique she used to make the interactive elements of this journal.

The other interesting elements on the 2nd interactive page was the use of envelopes which were just inked and stencilled and slipped into each other. It made cute pockets and pages for adding photos and journalling.

Watch the tutorial below or visit You Tube. Don't forget to leave Marion some happy comments..

If you don't have a lot of time to create a mini Journal is a great idea as it is quick to make and all you need to do is add photos, memorabilia, journaling and you done.

Well done - thanks for sharing Marion.
