The Simple Stories Great Escape Range - OH MY!!!!!

Simple Stories Vintage Great Escape Journal

When I received the Simple Stories Vintage Great Escape paper, die cuts and stickers I knew exactly what project I was going to do as the collection matched great with my trip to Florida to Butterfly World and some of my favorite pictures.

I created a journal folder using a piece of Kraft Cardstock and scoring it in the middle and adding four holes for the rings.

I used the Simple Stories 100% Natural to create the front cover of the journal, and then sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy and Old Paper. I then splashed a little bit of Dylusions White Linen Spray with a brush and cut out the die ornate gateway using kraft cardstock and sponging it with the same ink.

Once that was done, I built up the front cover using various elements from the sticker selection and die cuts. I used my wink of stella in red, green and clear to highlight the elements. I also added some black rhinestones.

The inside was made using a combination of 6x8 pocket pages for the photos, the simple stories 12x12 pages to create extra pages and the 4x6 elements. A combination of stickers and die cuts were used throughout, along with the matching washi tape. I actually ended up using all the stickers and most of the die cuts, so no leftovers for me!

The heading was created using Pink Paislee Indigo/Ivy Alpha stickers. I decided to use these to make it pop out.

This is how the journal turned out, and I love how it now holds my favourite photos from that day as a memory for me.

Finally the rings went in and I tied the ribbon on. I like this as an option for a journal as you can keep adding more pocket pages with photos and other elements. The rings can be changed out if the journal gets bigger, or make another one as this one, as the title suggest, Simple to create.

You can find all the products from Scrap of Your Life and if you can't find what you need, message Julie and she will source it in!

Happy Crafting
