How to start scrapbooking #1

If you have never scrapbooked before and want to start, it can be quite daunting.. So where do you start? You have all your photos stashed away in a boxes, draws, cupboards, (quite a muddle).

There are so many scrapbooking products available on the market, it’s easy to get lost. Well there are some first time basic steps that will help you on your way.

The first must is to gather all your photos,start getting them together and sorting them out into catogories. If you have some digital photos on the computer it might be a good time to get some of your favourites printed.

Your probably thinking Oh My gosh! Cant do it! Shove those thoughts aside and get stuck into it. This step could take up to a few weeks, depending on the size of your picture pile. So off you go. There are numerous ways you can sort your photos. Start by grouping them into specific themes and/or dates. Some examples of different sort piles you might create are holidays, schools baby photos, family gatherings, birthdays etc. You might end up with quite a few piles, and quite a few in some and not so much in another - this doesn't really matter just keep at it and eventually you will finish and feel ultra achievement when this job has been done.

Now that all your photos are sorted, it’s time to figure out where to start. If you have lots of baby photos or christmas photos - you might like to start with babies first years say 1-3 yrs or a christmas album. You might even think about a travel album if you have done lots of travelling and included all your travel momentos.
